Field Construction Manager

Contracted to T-Mobile on the FAA UMTS project. New site builds and colocations on exiting sites at 150’ to 300’ towers. Installations included shelter 1 antenna per sector coax or hybriflex. Daily site visits to oversee progress, status and any issues. 5 to 8 sites completed a week. Worked with T-Mobile’s CM’s with progress and weekly conference calls.

Scheduled site walks and redlined drawings with GC at time of walk. Daily visits to resolve issues and oversee modifications, from changing or adding antennas, adding OVP, RRH, and Hybriflex. 20 to 25 sites in construction, completed and on schedule per month. All civils during the day, antenna change during cutover window. Reported daily activity on each site in FST (Field Scheduling Tool). Punch walked all sites, approved or declined change orders and approved went to Management. Reviewed close outs including sweeps, PIM’s fiber tests, photos, and documents.

Punched walked all sites with GC and submitted final punch list

Managed multiple UMTS modification sites in the Austin, and San Antonio markets. Built and submitted materials per site. Swap antennas and add additional coax lines per SOW on monopoles, buildings, guide towers, self-supporting towers and water tanks. Punched sites with GC the same day site was completed.  Second phase of this project was surveying 205 UMTS sites from Austin to south Texas. Surveys started from type of tower, monopole, roof top, or water tank. Including type of equipment, Nokia or Nortel, number of rectifiers, drawings of perimeter, tower and coax placement. Antennas per sector, azimuth, and height. Over a 100 photos taken of each site. Built BOM’s from RF and design and submitted per site. Managed 7 to 10 sites from concept, design, NTP to construction complete per week, with a final QA report and submitted

T-Mobile UMTS project, Ericsson was turnkey company and Parsons working for Ericsson. Managed 130 modification sites from NTP to construction complete. On site during cut over during the window hours. Prepared BOW’s for each site, Pre con sites with GC’s, reviewed all change orders, approved or disapproved before submittal. Prepared bid packages and bid all sites with GC’s. Built material packages per site, including monopoles, pines, palms and stealth sites. Managed all aspects needed to implement UMTS site work with GC’s, telco, and utilities. Bid all sites with GC’s per design, utilities, and Telco. Developed relationships with GC’s to keep schedules on time and any issues on site. punched all sites, and reviewed close out packages.

Promoted to Project Manager on the MOD cell builds in ROW (right of way). Started in the developing stage of using small underground vaults per jurisdiction request for equipment. Initiated, communicated, and was involved in the vault design and price with a vault company for the built out.
